The use of drones in the automotive sector
In a context in which the use of the drone is vogue and the automotive sector approaches unavoidably towards digital transformation, the main players reinvent themselves to offer their customers the most advanced and best integrated technology in each of their products. Thus, the market seeks to differentiate itself and competes in leading the most innovative disruptive trends driven by technology in the automotive sector, such as autonomous driving, electrification or global connectivity that complement the mere activity of driving.
The use of the drone in the automotive industry today is still mainly aimed at the production process.
In this macro-context, the use of drones are one of the sources of opportunity that are starting to be noticed, but are still less implemented and exploited in the automotive sector. While it is true that the drone currently has very diverse uses and is used in many industries (agriculture, security, logistics or telecommunications), the use of the drone in the automotive industry today is still mainly aimed at the production process. In this sense, the applications and combinations that appear between drones and automobiles are infinite and optimistic (the range is wider than those offered by the flying car paradigm), which draws a path that can only be crossed through observation and innovation, and that implies we should start as soon as possible.
